After reading the blurb, this one sounded like a fun read. And except for a small hiccups, it is.

Jolie has moved to a city, not only to work a dream job in her favorite world, video games, but also to leave her very rough past behind her. She barely has the chance to settle in before she's saved by a very hot hero and invited on her first date. As flies to honey, she's attracting one nice looking and super sweet guy after the next, and soon learns that all four of them are best friends and her room mates. Mix it lots of magic, a vampire who is out to kill her and that the men are the princes of the four existing magical races, and her life definitely didn't get any simpler than before she moved.

I was looking for a nice read to dive into before falling asleep. Something with action, sweet romance and simply a fun story which didn't require much thought. In most ways, this read fit the list. The fantasy aspects are familiar and add the right amount of gusto and adventure. There is action, danger, a bit of mystery, tension and suspense. And this part of the story does hold it's own fairly well. Nothing too complex, but entertaining.

The romance side is, for the most part, paced okay. The first encounter rolls a bit quick, but friendships do form and there is more to the bond between all of them than just desire. This allows moments of silliness and humor to sprinkle in. The four different guys also have enough varying personalities to guarantee that readers will be able to find their personal favorites. That the group settles into their roles so seamlessly is a little beyond belief, but for the reverse harem side of things, works.

While the story does keep a nice pacing and is hard to put down—something unexpected always awaits on the next page and there are surprises that are hard to see coming—some moments happen simply too quickly, without enough build-up or are lacking enough background. In the first chapters, it made sinking into the world a bit rough but keeping in mind it was a read I'd picked up for fun, I held on and it worked. The plot soon becomes interesting enough to grab and hold the whole way through, especially as Jolie is thrown from one sticky situation to the next and all the while, maintains a heart of gold.

Can't wait to dive into book two and see where it goes next.

I really enjoyed this book. There seems to be two worryers in this story. I like that each guy had a emotion.
Loved reading this. It was a real hoot. I can't wait to see what else these guys need to learn about humans.
Not your typical, we're mates and going to jump right into it. I loved the different personalities and will definitely recommend this book.

You won't be disappointed.
Every one of these guys is a dream. This is a fascinating world full of all kinds of creatures like omg together. Enter one human female who sees four princes as men. Their relationship and the practical considerations are handled beautifully.
Moving to a new city to start over can be hard on anyone. Make it harder to fall for 4 different guys at the same time. Then come to find out they are all best friends and princes.
A fun take on the concept of harems. Jolie is a fairly normal geeky girl who lands a career job that would make most gamer girls squee. Adding in the concept of all sorts of shifter and fantasy races makes it an even more solid adventure. I love how vast the different cultures are and how overall upbeat and fast paced the book is.
I only had two complaints. Jolie gets a little too whiny about being worthy, but it is shown in a way most women can relate to. Media does tend to make us overly conscious about our looks and worth, so seeing that in a book isnt surprising. Finally the end felt abrupt. I don't mind cliff hangers, but it seemed like it should have continued on and not just been suddenly done. Still, well worth reading, and I've just finished the second book before leaving this review so I can say that with confidence.
If you're looking for a fun, light read where you can let go and enjoy yourself, this is the series for you.
While I enjoyed the overall story arc, some of the dialogue was corny. I openly laughed at times at the cheesy lines, especially said by the guys. There were times that I didn't know who was talking when all five of them were in the room. While that didn't really bother me, I felt that I didn't really get submerged into the story either. The first chapter was an overload of information.

All that said though, I did finish the book because like I said above, I did enjoy the story itself.
